Recently in Kingsford a lot of new restaurants have been popping up, especially Malaysian restaurants- Albee's Kitchen, Petaling St, Kreta Ayer, Malay Village (inside UNSW) just to name a few. I'm definitely not complaining because I loveeeeee Malaysian food, even though some dishes are a bit spicy :P
Out of the new Malaysian restaurants that opened there was a HUGE hype over Petaling St (next door to Passionflower) since the George St branch is such a huge hit. I absolutely love Petaling St (try it out for yourself!) but this post is about Albee's Kitchen and the reason why I mention Petaling St is that when I was hyping it up for my friends and getting ready for its opening in Kingsford, a friend of mine said that Albee's Kitchen was better. My friend said the Albee's Kitchen in Campsie (the main branch I am presuming) was much better than the Kingsford one, so I thought I might give Albee's Kitchen a try :) I can't really be the judge of which branch or restaurant is better but I've got to say Petaling St has a very strong competitor close by.
Albee's Kitchen was quite busy when my friend and I arrived but we were lucky enough to get a seat. Most of the seats are shared tables, they don't have single table for pairs, so if you just have two people be prepared to share a table. We were lucky that we didn't have someone directly next to us, but before we were leaving we had someone sit directly next to us.
Now to the fooddddd :)
We ended up ordering Karipap (chicken curry puffs), Hokkian Style Seafood Noodles and Butter Cereal Chicken.

Karipap (Chicken Curry Puffs) | A small pie consisting of specialized curry with chicken, sweet potatoes, beans and egg in a deep fried pastry shell | $2.50 each
Butter Chicken (or Oat) Chicken | Fried chicken mixed with cereal (or oats) | $15.80
It's like KFC for breakfast :P I've eaten cereal prawns before but never cereal chicken so this was definitely a new combination and I highly recommend you try this :)
Hokkian Style Seafood Noodles | Stir fried noodles in soy sauce with fish fillet, squid, king prawn and vegetables | $12.00
The Hokkian noodles dish was absolutely massive! It is definitely worth the money and it was super delicious! We originally ordered rice but we had to cancel it once we saw how big this dish was.
The service at Albee's Kitchen is extremely good- friendly staff and fast service = a happy customer :)
The food came out in less than 10 minutes.. I think it came out in 5 minutes :P The portion of the dishes are definitely value for money and full of flavour :)
One downfall is that we didn't check our bill and after leaving the restaurant my friend realised we got charged for the bowl of rice we cancelled. So note to everyone- check your bill :P
Overall, I am very pleased with the eating experience at Albee's Kitchen and I will definitely be going back to try new dishes!
Happy eating x
