As the mid- semester holidays are upon us my friends and I decided it would be a great time to catch up after not seeing each other for a such a long time! I gave my friend a long list of places I wanted to eat at and originally we decided on Kawa (348 Crown St Surry Hills) but as we were heading there my other friend mentioned Devon cafe. I've seen a lot of photos (on instagram :P) and heard a lot about Devon cafe so I was pretty keen to try and check it out.
We were lucky to get parking right outside Devon cafe, which is located on 76 Devonshire St, Surry Hill- very close to Central station. We were also lucky enough to make it in time for the breakfast menu (until 11:30am), we had 2 minutes to decide before they changed over to the lunch menu :P
The ambiance of the cafe is very lively and cozy, it is bursting with life and colour- I especially love the graffiti feature wall and the cute little decorations on the table. The waiter that took care of us was very polite and friendly, and was constantly conversing and joking with us :)
The breakfast menu is not your typical breakfast food, I found the menu to be creative and it definitely took a new spin on the traditional breakfast dishes. I ended up ordering the 'Citrus cured salmon' and my friends ordered the 'Gone bananas' and 'Orge Happy Meal'.
Note: The food does take a while to come out, it even says it on the menu, but the wait is definitely worth it :)
I also don't remember the exact names and prices of each dish- my mistake for not writing it down.

Overall, I'm really satisfied with the food, service and atmosphere of Devon cafe. The price is definitely worth the quality and portion of food (the dishes are huge!!).
