We arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon looking for some sweets after our cafe run at Glider KS (see previous post). The cafe itself is quite small, one corner is the counter for the cakes and coffee and the back wall is for the flowers. There is also an open kitchen connected to it where you can see the pastry chef creating these beautiful cakes. There is only outdoor seating but luckily it is undercover. We ordered two desserts: Chocolate Candy Bar and the Terrarium. Both desserts were extremely photogenic and had unique flavours to them.
Chocolate Candy Bar | Chocolate flourless sponge, burnt butter ganache, praline feuiletine crunch, sprayed milk chocolate mousse | $9.50
Terrarium | Passionfruit finger lime panacotta, cocoa nib soil, baby lemon baim, edible flower garden, Callebaut 29.5% white chocolate | $9.50
Overall, I really enjoyed both desserts at Petal Met Sugar but my vote will have to go to the Chocolate Candy Bar (you can never go wrong with chocolate!!). The price of the cakes were expected (around $6-$10) for the quality that you get. The service was reasonable- there wasn't much interaction with the staff other than ordering. I'll definitely be back to try more of Petal Met Sugar's scrumptious and beautiful cakes!
