Petaling Street is one of the newer Malaysian restaurants that has opened on Anzac Parade, Kingsford. I know Petaling Street because I have previously been to their main branch on George Street, Haymarket. I was very pleased with the overall dining experience at the George St branch, so I was expecting the same dining experience here at the Kingsford branch. Unfortunately, I feel that the Kingsford branch falls short of the George st branch, some reasons are: a few dishes tastes a bit differently like the Nasi Pattaya (below)- the Georget St branch has more flavour and is less dry, the service at the Kingsford branch is much better (maybe we just encountered a tired staff at the George St branch). The atmosphere at Petaling St, Kingsford is much lively and comfortable, the restaurant is much more spacious and newer (obivously :P). The prices are exactly the same.
We ended up ordering the Nasi Pattaya and the combination hor fun- shared between my friend and I. The size of the dishes are quite generous and even though both of us were very hungry we were unable to finish it :P

Nasi Pattaya | Malaysian hawker type fried rice placed inside an omelette | $11.80
The nasi pattaya is fried rice inside a nicely wrapped omelette and I think the most exciting part is cutting it open :D The omelette is drizzled in sweet chilli sauce which is a nice combination with the rice and egg. This is definitely my favourite dish at Petaling St! Note: This dish a little bit spicy.
Combination Hor Fun | Malaysian hawker type rice noodles with seafood, chicken & vegetable | $10.80
The combination hor fun was very disappointing, maybe because I am very used to eating the Chinese style hor fun. I'm not too sure if Malaysian and Chinese style hor fun is meant to be the same or not but I don't remember it tasting like this.
The chicken tasted as if it had been in the fridge for a very long time, meaning it did not taste fresh and I am not a fan of chicken thigh, making it much more less appealing to me.
Also I noticed on the menu is says vegetable not vegetableS, I was expecting more vegetables at least some carrots. But looking back at the menu if it specifically states vegetable I guess I can't complain.
Overall, this dish lacked flavour and ingredients. Quite disappointed with the quality of this combinatin hor fun dish.

Just for laughs: look at number 122- I'm sorry but what is a Michael Jackson drink? :P I was very tempted to order this!
Overall, Petaling Street serves a generous amount per dish but I feel that it is a bit hyped up and compared to the George Street branch it is not as good. The service is very good and the wait staff are very polite.
I'll probably be back to try their other dishes :D Let me know what's your favourite dish :)
Happy eating x
